In a harrowing sequence of crimes, police report that a 55-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his daughter after being struck on the head with a utensil. His son, Shivam, recounted that the father succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The daughter, identified as Anu, is reportedly unmarried and living with her parents, officials noted.
The police have detained Anu, and legal proceedings are underway. Meanwhile, another tragic incident unfolded in Tripura's Sepahijala district, where armed robbers struck Shanti Ranjan Das, 82, and his wife Namita, 70. While Shanti was killed, Namita survives in critical condition at GB Hospital.
The robbers, numbering between ten to twelve, targeted gold jewellery, according to local police. The couple's resistance allegedly led to Shanti's murder and Namita's severe injuries. Authorities are intensifying their investigations as both communities grapple with the aftermath of these appalling events.
