NHIDCL Chief to Inspect Tripura Highways Amid Urgent Repair Demands

The Managing Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Krishan Kumar, is set to visit Tripura on August 10. His visit aims to address and inspect both the maintenance and ongoing construction on the national highways in the northeastern state, per a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
Chief Minister Manik Saha has previously implored the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to look into the poor state of the 12-km Khowai-Kamalpur stretch of National Highway 208. This formal request for assistance was made on May 10.
In a detailed development, Nitin Gadkari disclosed that a Central Road Research Institute team examined the concerning stretch from July 23 to 27, with their findings expected by August 15. The Chief Minister has persistently advocated for repairs, even mobilizing state officials to expedite the process before Durga Puja.
