DGS IT Conclave 2025: Pioneering Digital Innovation in Maritime Governance

The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), under India's Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, held the 'IT Conclave 2025 - Leveraging Technology in Maritime' in New Delhi. The event marks a significant step toward the digital transformation of India's maritime governance.
The conclave, co-organized with the Company of Master Mariners of India (CMMI), supports initiatives like 'Digital India', 'Maritime India Vision 2030', and 'Amrit Kaal Vision 2047'. Key launches included an upgraded DG Shipping website and the e-Samudra platform, aimed at integrating over 60 maritime services under one digital platform.
The initial phase of e-Samudra includes modules for chartering permissions, financial assistance for shipbuilding, and digital registration for transport operators. These digital strides aim to improve transparency, efficiency, and innovation, aligning with the national vision of a tech-driven future, said Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
