Madhya Pradesh's 'Rahagir Yojana': A Life-Saving Initiative

The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an innovative initiative called "Rahagir Yojana," aiming to curb the rising fatalities from road accidents. This program promotes awareness and offers a ₹25,000 incentive to individuals who transport accident victims to hospitals during the critical first hour following an accident, known as the golden hour.

A recent success story under this scheme unfolded in Chhatarpur district, where two Muslim youths swiftly transported accident victim Gaurav Agrawal to a hospital, saving his life. Their selfless act earned them a ₹25,000 reward. One participant emphasized that humanity drove their actions, stating, "A man's life was at stake."

Chhatarpur District Collector Parth Jeswal hailed the program's significance and urged the public to assist in similar situations. He noted, "Rahagir Yojana rewards those providing emergency medical assistance. This first case in our district saw successful implementation, with incentives approved for two local heroes."
