Security Forces Intensify Crackdown on Terror Activities in Jammu and Kashmir

In a major crackdown, Jammu and Kashmir police, along with other security agencies, conducted coordinated raids on the residences of individuals allegedly operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These raids primarily targeted "suspicious persons" and Overground Workers (OGWs) suspected of engaging in anti-national activities. Senior police officials confirmed that relatives, friends, and close associates of the accused were questioned as security forces gathered crucial evidence.

Simultaneously, security forces have been engaged in an ongoing operation in the Akhal Devsar area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. This operation has entered its eighth consecutive day, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army shared details on X, noting that an "intermittent and intense firefight" occurred overnight, with troops responding effectively to the threat.

In another development, the Baramulla Police successfully dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Gogaldara-Danwas forest, seizing a cache of weapons and supplies. The operation led to the recovery of a pistol, magazine, nine rounds, a grenade, and medical supplies. Meanwhile, an earlier operation by the Indian Army's White Knight Corps in the Poonch sector thwarted an infiltration attempt, neutralizing two terrorists and recovering three weapons.
