Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of misleading the Indian public with his remarks against the Election Commission of India (ECI). Khandelwal insists that the ECI acted within its jurisdiction and noted that the Supreme Court has upheld this authority multiple times.
The BJP representative emphasized that the comments made by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha were politically driven and lacked legal grounding. In a statement to ANI, Khandelwal remarked that Rahul Gandhi's actions were misleading the nation for political gain.
This controversy comes as Rahul Gandhi embarks on a 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' across Bihar, covering more than 20 districts and spanning 1,300 kilometers. The campaign, organized by Gandhi and INDIA bloc leaders, aims to highlight voter rights and protest alleged irregularities in the electoral roll revision.
