IndiGrid Expands Northeast Reach with Strategic Acquisition
India Grid Trust has agreed to acquire the NERES XVI power transmission project from Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd. This Rs 460 crore project includes a substation and transmission line, aimed for completion by December 2026. IndiGrid continues to strengthen its partnership with TEECL.

India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) has announced the signing of definitive agreements with Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd (TEECL) to purchase the NERES XVI power transmission project in northeast India for up to Rs 460 crore.
This ambitious project features a 400/220/132 kV substation boasting a 1,400 MVA capacity and a 45-km double-circuit transmission line, with a targeted completion date set for December 2026.
While Techno Electric will be responsible for executing the project's development and construction, IndiGrid will acquire the completed asset following commercial operations and necessary regulatory approvals. This acquisition represents the third collaborative venture between IndiGrid and TEECL, highlighting their strengthened partnership in the power transmission segment.
