The 2nd National Conference of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Heads of States and Union Territories wrapped up in New Delhi, reaffirming a unified commitment to eliminate drug abuse in India by 2047. Envisioned under the theme 'United Resolve, Shared Responsibility,' the event was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau, 36 ANTF Heads from States and UTs, alongside other government members, engaged in in-depth discussions post-Shah's address. The sessions honed in on the current and future strategies of Anti-Narcotics Task Forces to achieve a Drug-Free India, emphasizing effective use of the NCORD mechanism.

The discussions underscored a whole-of-government strategy, urging States and UTs to conduct detailed mappings from illicit cultivation to urban narcotics hubs. Enhanced cooperation with international and transnational entities was also stressed, with particular attention to maritime trafficking, INTERPOL collaboration, and the evolution of financial intelligence in countering narcotics offenders.
