Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the Telangana government has reimbursed more than Rs 7,400 crore to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) for women's free travel.

During a loan distribution event for Women's Self-Help Groups, Vikramarka addressed concerns over the feasibility of the government's interest-free loans initiative, revealing that Rs 21,632 crore had been disbursed in the first year, exceeding the annual target.

Approximately 222.50 crore free bus journeys have been availed by women, resulting in significant savings. Moreover, welfare measures from the Congress government include the monthly provision of six kg of fine rice per person to 96 lakh families. The government is also facilitating the purchase of buses by women's groups, leasing them to the RTC, and offering up to Rs 10 lakh for free medical treatment under 'Rajiv Arogyasri', underscoring its dedication to women's empowerment.
