The Delhi Police on Saturday requested more time to argue their opposition to granting bail to Gaganpreet Kaur, accused of involvement in a tragic BMW accident at Dhaula Kuan that resulted in the death of Navjot Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Finance Ministry. The Patiala House Court has postponed the bail hearing until September 24 at the request of the prosecution.

Judicial Magistrate First Class Ankit Garg agreed to the adjournment requested by Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Shrivastava, the Special Public Prosecutor in the case. The prosecution argued that additional time is necessary to examine the victim and analyze CCTV footage related to the accident.

The Delhi Police have taken control of CCTV footage from pillars 65 and 67. They have also sought more time to recover Gaganpreet Kaur's mobile phone and driving license, which remain unfound. Defense counsel has assured that the mobile, currently with the accused's husband, will be surrendered soon.

Furthermore, three applications have been filed to preserve Call Detail Records and other evidence related to Witness Gulfam and Gaganpreet Kaur. Notices have been issued to the Delhi Police regarding these applications, scheduled for a future hearing.

The court also reviewed a request concerning the preservation of CCTV footage, emphasizing that further statements by the prosecuting agency concerning evidence validity are unnecessary. The court confirmed that orders to preserve evidence have been made, and clarifications are awaited.
