In a significant move coinciding with Navratri, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the government would engage traders and consumers to enhance awareness of the newly implemented Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms. Speaking in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju emphasized PM Narendra Modi's initiative for a 'GST Bachat Utsav'.

Minister Rijiju informed audiences that outreach efforts will extend to traders in both urban and rural areas, fostering consumer knowledge. 'We are going to celebrate the GST Bachat Utsav,' he stated, labeling the day as 'pious and historic' due to the dual occurrence of Navratri and the rollout of the landmark GST reforms.

Earlier, PM Modi engaged with local traders, industry representatives, and taxpayers in Arunachal Pradesh. During the 'GST Bachat Utsav', he met artisans and industry figures, highlighting local 'swadeshi' products. Modi also inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore, furthering the region's growth.
