Vikram Sood, a former chief at the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has expressed concerns over the strengthening ties between the United States and Pakistan. These developments come despite India's rebuttal of US President Donald Trump's claim of mediatory success in the recent ceasefire during Operation Sindoor. Sood highlighted the detrimental impact of a US deep state, which he believes is thwarting India's economic progress.
In a conversation with ANI, Sood stated that the rekindling of US-Pakistan relations commenced after Trump wasn't credited for the Operation Sindoor ceasefire. Pakistan's acquiescence to Trump's leadership, even suggesting he deserves a Nobel Prize, showcases the deep state's interests as they seek to curb India's economic ascent alongside China, both of whom are emerging as significant global economic forces.
Sood further elucidated that the concept of a deep state has evolved, now involving corporates and military intelligence as predominant influencers behind US policies, excluding President Trump from its ranks. Powerful corporations, particularly those in the armament industry, are portrayed as key players in steering US foreign relations, impacting decisions regarding nations like India, Pakistan, and Israel.
