Gitanjali J Angmo, wife of renowned activist Sonam Wangchuk and CEO of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives (HAIL), has voiced strong criticism against the Indian government following recent violence in Ladakh. She alleged that the Center is misusing Ladakh's police forces and compared the situation to India's colonial past under British rule.
Angmo dismissed accusations against Wangchuk, including claims of his association with Pakistani intelligence. Refuting these allegations, she accused the Ladakh police of following a specific agenda and avoiding the implementation of the 6th Schedule, which provides special protections for tribal areas.
Amidst the turmoil, Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor, Kavinder Gupta, expressed optimism, stating that the Central government is committed to addressing Ladakh's concerns. He highlighted ongoing talks between local leaders and the administration, signaling hope for a resolution.
