As the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commences its centenary year, the organization marked the occasion alongside Vijayadashami celebrations with a series of march-pasts across Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. These processions took place at over 100 locations in Kerala's capital, symbolizing unity and discipline.
On the same day, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered his annual Vijaydashami address in Nagpur, where he underscored the critical role of the Shakha system in nurturing character and values. Bhagwat lamented the erosion of individual development systems during foreign invasions but praised the century-long efforts of Sangh Karyakartas to maintain and bolster the Shakha, urging continued participation in daily activities to foster personal growth.
Bhagwat further asserted the importance of the Shakha in instilling human values and promoting social cohesion. He highlighted the five initiatives for societal change, including social harmony, family value preservation, environmental stewardship, and self-reliance. The RSS, founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, aims to promote cultural awareness, discipline, and societal duty.
