Tragedy Strikes as Trolley Overturns: 11 Dead in Madhya Pradesh

A harrowing incident claimed the lives of 11 people during a Durga idol immersion in Jamli village, Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh, when a trolley carrying devotees overturned. Khandwa Collector Rishav Gupta confirmed that all bodies have been recovered and sent for post-mortem, with three others injured, one critically.
The tragedy struck as villagers and officials present at the site warned the devotees about the pond's deep waters, but the trolley, carrying about 25 youths, lost balance and overturned. Swift action by villagers, SDRF, and Home Guard teams helped rescue several people, though 11 lives were ultimately lost.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the Prime Minister's Office announced financial aid for the victims' families, offering Rs 4 lakh each to the deceased's kin and Rs 50,000 for the injured. The Chief Minister also assured proper medical treatment for those injured.
