In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh's capital city, heavy rains on Monday brought a sudden drop in temperature, leading to mixed reactions among tourists. The downpour disrupted sightseeing plans for some, but others embraced the chilly monsoon ambiance, finding joy in the unexpected weather.
The rain began early in the day, drenching iconic tourist destinations like The Ridge, Mall Road, and Kufri. The persistent showers left streets glistening and traffic moving slowly. Umbrella-covered visitors, along with drenched pines, painted a premature wintry picture, defying the usual seasonal shift.
Rohit, a tourist from Haryana, expressed frustration over the weather's impact on their plans, while Sangita, from Sonipat, found the experience beautiful, if unexpected. Although continuous showers led to a slight dip in foot traffic on Mall Road, hotel occupancy remained stable as tourists enjoyed Shimla's misty views from indoors.
