India's First VLGC 'Shivalik' Embarks on Maritime Milestone

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal extended a ceremonial welcome to India's inaugural Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC), 'Shivalik', as it made its debut at Visakhapatnam Port.

The equipping of the vessel under the Indian flag by the Shipping Corporation of India on September 10 signifies a pivotal advancement in the nation's maritime and energy logistics sectors.

Reflecting India's maritime growth and Atmanirbhar Bharat goals, the 'Shivalik' played a key role in showcasing the country's progress under the Maritime India Vision 2030, according to the Union Minister's remarks at the welcoming event.
