At a recent ex-servicemen rally held in Likabali military station, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) called for enhanced welfare measures and effective implementation of reservation policies to support ex-servicemen and veer naris.
He stressed the importance of comprehensive rehabilitation, particularly for those retiring early below officer rank, and ensuring pension rights, quality education for children, and improved medical aid for veer naris. Governor Parnaik underscored that veterans' skills should be utilized in sectors like the Ecological Territorial Army and community development initiatives.
He urged the state government to introduce additional welfare measures, such as cash incentives and land allotment for decorated personnel. The rally saw participation from over 1,300 ex-servicemen and veer naris, as senior officials lauded their contributions to nation-building.
