Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extolled India's burgeoning defence manufacturing sector at the Nag Bhushan Award ceremony in Nagpur, spotlighting the nation's ability to rival global advancements. During the event, he emphasized the pride felt for local innovators elevating Nagpur's reputation both nationally and internationally.
The Chief Minister highlighted the journey of Satyanarayan Nuwal, Founder and Chairman of the Solar Group, who navigated barriers to enter the defence sector amid rigid government policies. Fadnavis credited policy shifts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, which spurred indigenous entrepreneurship in defence through initiatives like 'Make in India'.
The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, celebrated achievements in defence and sports. Bhagwat praised awardees like Nuwal and young athlete Daksh Khante for their perseverance, while Gadkari emphasized the strategic importance of defence capabilities in global power dynamics.
