The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a landmark victory in West Bengal, capturing 207 seats, a milestone celebrated for its significance in the home state of Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee. This triumph was acknowledged by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, who applauded the party's workers for their unwavering dedication to the campaign.
Minister Lodhi extended commendations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, crediting them for addressing the issues and grievances of West Bengal's populace. Meanwhile, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) retained only 80 seats, after 15 years of governance in the region.
Separately, Lodhi voiced sorrow over the tragic incident at Bargi Dam in Jabalpur, where a state tourism department-operated cruise capsized, resulting in 13 fatalities. As rescue efforts unfolded, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the formation of a four-member probe committee to investigate, emphasizing strict action against any negligence discovered.
