Russia's Unyielding Assault: Kyiv and Cities Under Harsh Drone Attacks
Russia launched its most significant aerial offensive over Ukraine, with Kyiv bearing the brunt of the attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported that since Wednesday, Russia launched over 1,560 drones, with air defense intercepting many but not all. This wave of attacks, including strikes on the residential areas and vital infrastructure, further undermines hopes of a swift conclusion to the war initiated by Russia in February 2022.
Despite U.S.-backed peace efforts, Moscow's actions signal continued aggression. The attacks not only threaten critical services, with disruptions in electricity and water supplies across various cities, but also call for global attention and aid, as noted by international leaders.
