The recently completed Sariahtali Stadium in Assam's Nalbari district is set to host the seventh leg of the Indian Athletics Series on June 6, offering athletes from within the state and neighboring regions a unique opportunity to race at a national level.
This inaugural meet comprises 18 senior-level events, evenly distributed between men and women, and 10 junior events for under-20 participants, as announced by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). The event marks a significant moment for interior Assam athletes, promoting athletics in the region.
Organized under the auspices of the AFI by the Assam Athletics Association, the venue boasts a newly-laid 9-lane track within the Nalbari District Sports Stadium Complex. Inaugurated in February by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the complex also includes Assam's first Athletics Academy and a football ground.
