In a bid to endorse fuel conservation, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary trekked from his official residence to the cabinet secretariat in Patna, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent call for reduced fuel usage amidst the West Asia turmoil.
Choudhary's half-kilometer journey was accompanied by senior officials and signifies broader state efforts to curtail fuel consumption. He has initiated several cost-saving measures and has directed a reduction in his cavalcade, prompting similar actions among cabinet colleagues.
Among the planned initiatives are the promotion of work-from-home arrangements and the observance of a 'no vehicle day' weekly. Additionally, state departments are urged to conduct meetings via video conferencing, minimizing travel.
