LPG Vessel Sails Through Crisis to Reach Kandla

A vessel laden with 20,000 metric tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) reached the Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla, Gujarat. The ship's voyage started in Qatar and faced significant challenges crossing the Strait of Hormuz amid the West Asia crisis.

The Marshall Islands-flagged MV SYMI navigated a precarious geopolitical landscape as clashes in the region disrupted energy shipments. This voyage is part of a series of shipments, with 13 Indian-flagged vessels having crossed the critical waterway since early March.

The tensions have been exacerbated by U.S. and Israeli actions against Iran, sparking a major energy crisis. India's representative to the UN emphasized the need for safe and uninhibited maritime routes, especially after a recent attack near Oman on an Indian commercial vessel.
