Delhi's Power Demand Reaches New Heights Amid Rising Temperatures

Delhi's peak power demand has reached an unprecedented 7,542 megawatts, marking the highest so far this summer as temperatures soared to 43.4 degrees Celsius.

The weather department anticipates a further rise in the maximum temperature to 44 degrees Celsius by Tuesday, potentially intensifying the demand.

Data from the State Load Dispatch Centre revealed that at 4:05 PM on Monday, power demand peaked far beyond Sunday's 7,094 MW. Experts attribute this trend to increased use of air conditioners, coolers, and refrigerators amid the summer heat.
