In a significant announcement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared the Bastar region as Naxal-free during an event in Jagdalpur. Shah credited the relentless efforts of the security forces, overcoming skepticism when the target was set in January 2024, to achieve this milestone against Naxalism.

Amit Shah emphasized a multifaceted plan for Bastar's speedy development, ensuring the integration of 3,000 surrendered Naxals by providing them with employment opportunities. He outlined the government's vision to elevate Bastar to the level of other states while celebrating the inauguration of the Shaheed Veer Gundadhur Seva Dera Jan Suvidha Kendra.

Highlighting tribal welfare, Shah announced initiatives like establishing public service centers, promoting tribal culture globally, and launching the Bastar Olympics to foster community development. This comprehensive strategy aims to rectify decades of setbacks caused by Naxalism and bring tangible benefits to the region's inhabitants.
