In a sharp critique against the central government, Congress Member of Parliament Manish Tewari has raised concerns over the sustained hike in fuel prices, accusing the ruling party of failing to implement effective countermeasures. Tewari emphasized the dichotomy of oil marketing companies benefiting while the populace bears the cost burden.
Tewari targeted Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's declaration of a fuel, fertilizer, and foreign exchange crisis, accusing the administration of inertia throughout its term. In a scathing remark, he questioned the competition of the devalued rupee in an economically strained environment.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari joined the chorus, lambasting the Modi government's inflation management. He accused it of enriching allies at the expense of ordinary people as fuel, fertilizer, and foreign exchange sectors face hurdles. Despite government claims of excise duty reductions to alleviate consumer strain, tensions continue to simmer.
