In a significant development, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has assumed control of the investigation into the Amar Colony shooting incident. This comes after a 17-year-old boy was shot during a scuffle at a local eatery, leaving him critically injured. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday evening in South East Delhi's Amar Colony. Police sources revealed that a group of boys engaged in a confrontation with the victim at the eatery. Following the altercation, one of the boys allegedly shot the victim, then fled the scene. The Delhi Police received a PCR call about the incident around 7:54 pm.

Subsequent to the altercation, the Crime Branch has deployed teams to scrutinize CCTV footage and conduct technical surveillance to track down the perpetrators. So far, one suspect, reportedly a minor, has been apprehended. Police sources indicate the group involved was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
