Goa's Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, expressed his appreciation towards the Central Government for acknowledging the state's request to consider the ESI Hospital in Margao as a potential site for a new medical college.
Currently, the Panaji-based Goa Medical College is the only government-run medical institution in the state. Sawant took to the social media platform X to convey his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Minister for Labour & Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, for their positive response to the proposal.
The inclusion of ESI Margao Hospital in North Goa as a prospective location signals a significant step in strengthening the region's healthcare infrastructure. This initiative not only aims to expand medical education opportunities but also promises improvements in healthcare services across South Goa.
