The indigenous BHISHM cubes, modular medical facilities, are being introduced at major hospitals including AIIMS Jammu and SKIMS Srinagar as part of the Aarogya Maitri project to enhance medical readiness near India's border, officials reported on Friday.
This initiative follows discussions led by Union Health Minister J P Nadda regarding health infrastructure amid the ongoing Operation Sindoor and heightened India-Pakistan tensions. Officials indicate these medical cubes are also positioned in other Institutes of National Importance like AIIMS locations in Rishikesh, Bilaspur, and Delhi.
According to Air Vice Marshal Dr. Tanmoy Roy of HLL Lifecare, which oversees the project's deployment, BHISHM cubes provide essential emergency care and are equipped with innovative tools integrating AI for effective disaster response.
