The Government Doon Medical College and Government Medical College in Haldwani have signed an agreement to construct rest houses for families of patients. The initiative, witnessed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, reflects the ongoing efforts to bolster health facilities in Uttarakhand.
Each rest house will feature a 350-bed capacity, offering affordable stay options, including Rs 55 beds in dormitories and double-bedded rooms at Rs 300. Breakfast and lunch will be available for Rs 20 and Rs 35, respectively, according to the official statement.
Dedicated land areas at both colleges have been allocated for construction, with the Chief Minister urging similar setups at other medical centers, like the AIIMS Satellite Centre in Kichha, underlining the state's commitment to improving patient support infrastructure.
