Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced a significant improvement in health services within the state under the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, a key government healthcare initiative.

Speaking at the Assembly, Yadav reported that the trust facilitated medical treatment for more than 13.4 lakh people in 2024-25, a substantial increase from the 12.5 lakh catered to by the Aarogyasri scheme during the former YSRCP regime in 2023-24. The trust was established following the change in government, replacing the Aarogyasri initiative.

The minister countered rumors suggesting the cessation of the trust's services, attributing them to political motivations. He criticized prior governance by the YSRCP for failing to maintain essential patient services and acknowledged ongoing efforts by the NDA administration to settle outstanding debts with network hospitals. To date, Rs 2,222 crore has been paid, with more funds committed for distribution.
