A shocking incident in Simuapur village, Kannauj, has left 62 people ill after consuming 'prasad' during a religious ceremony at a private residence. The event unfolded on Friday night during a 'Satyanarayan Katha' organized by Munna Lal Kashyap.

After eating 'panchamrit' and 'panjiri', attendees experienced deteriorating health conditions. While initial treatments were administered by private practitioners, the situation escalated, necessitating their transfer to the district hospital.

According to Dr. Akanksha, 62 patients had been admitted by 10:30 p.m., with 14 critically ill individuals referred to Tirwa Medical College. District Magistrate Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri and other officials have taken charge of the situation, ensuring proper medical care directives are followed.
