Dairy Farmers Dump Milk in Protest Against Adulteration

Dairy farmers in Amritsar took their grievances public on Monday by dumping hundreds of litres of milk at the district administration complex. The demonstrators expressed anger over the alleged widespread sale of adulterated milk in local shops, claiming that these products are a potential health hazard.

The farmers further accused sweet makers and other small dairy vendors of selling synthetic milk at low costs. Their protests highlighted concerns over the impact of such products, which are said to be harmful to health.

The protesting farmers alleged that the lack of action by district authorities enables the ongoing sale of adulterated milk, and implied collusion with certain officials. They have threatened a statewide protest if measures are not taken promptly.
