Centre Approves Rs 2,103 Crore for West Bengal's Health Initiatives

West Bengal is preparing to launch the National Health Mission with a substantial Rs 2,103 crore financial boost from the central government, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced in Kolkata. This effort will significantly enhance healthcare services, targeting over 1.36 crore families through the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Adhikari stated that these funds will notably upgrade healthcare delivery across the state, with Rs 527 crore already received. Additionally, control rooms are to be established for overseeing and monitoring district hospital operations, ensuring effective management and service delivery statewide.
