Nepali lawmakers voiced concerns about the country's diplomatic relations with states that sponsor terrorism, urging the government to sever these ties. During a recent House of Representatives session, Sarbendra Nath Shukla from the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party highlighted the global divide between supporters and opponents of terrorism.
Shukla emphasized the impact of South Asian terror attacks on Nepal and urged support for anti-terrorism forces. "We must distance ourselves from states supporting terrorism," Shukla advised, hinting at downgrading ties with Pakistan.
Former Foreign Minister and Nepali Congress lawmaker NP Saud criticized inviting a Pakistani Army delegation to Nepal amid conflicts and a recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. He called for diplomatic sensitivity, aligning criticism with India's 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terrorist camps in response to the attack.
