The Indian Armed Forces have effectively neutralized an attempted large-scale drone and missile assault by Pakistan on multiple military installations across Northern and Western India. The incident took place overnight from May 7 to 8, with a key air defense system in Lahore among the threats neutralized, as confirmed by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi during a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) briefing.
In direct response to the attempted attacks, Indian forces executed precise strikes targeting air defense radars and systems across Pakistan. Colonel Qureshi emphasized that India's military response mirrored the intensity of Pakistan's actions. Notably, she mentioned the neutralization of a critical air defense system in Lahore.
Operation Sindoor, launched post the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, led to precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoJK. The Indian government held an all-party meeting to discuss these developments, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh providing a detailed briefing. The operation was described as focused and non-escalatory, ensuring no direct targets on Pakistani military facilities.
