In a sharp rebuttal, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri labeled Pakistan's assertion that it had downed Indian jets as baseless propaganda, tracing it back to a long history of misinformation. Misri recalled Pakistan's denial during the 1947 Jammu and Kashmir invasion, highlighting a pattern of deception since the country's inception.

During a Thursday press briefing, Misri remarked, "There is nothing surprising in it. This is a country that started lying at its birth." He refuted Pakistan's claim that India targeted the Neelum-Jhelum dam, dismissing it as "fabricated and a blatant lie," and emphasized that Indian military actions are limited to terrorist infrastructure.

Misri warned of consequences if Pakistan's false narratives continue as provocations against Indian infrastructure. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India's 'Operation Sindoor' targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan, demonstrating restraint by not targeting military facilities, according to the Ministry of Defence.
