Pakistan has announced that its Economic Affairs Division social media account was compromised after it allegedly posted appeals for international loans amid economic hardships following India's Operation Sindoor. Labeling the posts as fake, Pakistan emphasized its economy is stable despite being the IMF's fourth largest debtor with approximately USD 8.8 billion in debt.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fact Checker in Pakistan confirmed the hacking incident, declaring the circulated post false. Despite the discourse online, Pakistan's financial predicament remains fragile, with Moody's recently cautioning that ongoing frictions with India could jeopardize economic recovery.
Simultaneously, the Indian Army reported repelling several drone and ceasefire violations by Pakistan's Armed Forces along the western border and Line of Control. Previous hostilities saw over 50 Pakistani drones neutralized. The Indian military's commanding presence underscores its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.
During a press conference, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated that India's Integrated Counter-UAS Grid and Air Defense systems had effectively neutralized attempted Pakistani attacks. Indian forces successfully targeted and dismantled several air defense systems in Pakistan, marking an assertive response to cross-border tensions.
On one affected night, Pakistan reportedly attempted strikes on numerous Indian military sites, targeting areas like Awantipura and Srinagar. These attacks were countered by India's resolute defense measures, leaving debris as evidence of the thwarted incursions.
