China has expressed concern over rising tensions between India and Pakistan, urging both countries to prioritize peace and stability by adhering to international law. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian called for calm amid escalating military engagement following recent terrorist attacks and subsequent retaliatory strikes.
Lin emphasized China's stance against terrorism while underscoring the importance of restraint to avoid further complications. The Foreign Ministry reiterated China's readiness to work with the international community to ease the situation. Lin also reiterated China's neutral position, highlighting the proximity of China to both nations as neighbors.
Recent conflicts ignited after a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam spurred India to execute precision strikes on May 7. These strikes targeted terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In retaliation, Pakistan conducted multiple drone and ceasefire violations, which India claims to have neutralized effectively.
