In a stern rebuke over escalating tensions, India has strongly condemned Pakistan for deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure, including schools and religious sites. Addressing recent incursions, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described Pakistan's actions as an outrageous provocation that marks a new low for the neighboring country.

Indian government officials revealed that amidst heavy shelling on May 7, a Pakistani shell tragically claimed the lives of two students in Poonch. With schools closed, casualties might have been higher. Misri highlighted how Pakistan is targeting religious places, further entrenching the conflict across the Line of Control.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi disclosed the deployment of Turkish-made drones by Pakistan to infiltrate Indian airspace on May 7-8. These acts, aimed at testing Indian defenses, were promptly countered by India's armed forces. Meanwhile, particular attention was drawn to the Hamas-style missile strikes targeting Jammu, raising concerns about Pakistan's aggressive tactics.
