The 14th Dalai Lama has extended heartfelt congratulations to Zandanshatar Gombojav following his election as Prime Minister of Mongolia. In a heartfelt message, the Tibetan spiritual leader reminisced about his first visit to Mongolia in 1979, highlighting the fond memories he holds of the nation and its people.
In a statement posted on his official site, the Dalai Lama expressed his encouragement regarding the interest Mongolians have shown in promoting human values and in balancing traditional Buddhist knowledge with modern education. "Mongolians and Tibetans have historically been like twin brothers and sisters," he noted, referencing the enduring relationship dating back to the time of the Third Dalai Lama, Sonam Gyatso.
