India Facilitates Mass Return Amid Gulf Security Tensions

In a remarkable movement amidst the tense security dynamics in West Asia and the Gulf, more than 1.2 million people have returned to India. The announcement came as Aseem R. Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf) at the Ministry of External Affairs, addressed an inter-ministerial briefing in the capital.

Mahajan reported a significant improvement in flight availability, with over 110 flights operational from the UAE alone. Despite several airspace restrictions, countries like Qatar and Iraq are partially assisting in the movement of travelers to India, while Iran supports traveler transit through Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Indian government remains committed to the welfare of its nationals, working closely with embassies and local authorities. Meanwhile, on the international front, diplomatic tensions linger as the US maintains conditions on Iran over nuclear stockpiles amid ongoing ceasefire discussions.
