The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu announced the laying of the foundation stone for a hospital in Manang district's Nason Rural Municipality, reflecting India-Nepal cooperation. With Indian financial aid, the project aims to improve healthcare access. Another educational infrastructure project in Okhaldhunga highlights continued bilateral support.
In a significant collaborative step, the foundation stone for a new hospital in Manang district, Nepal was laid on Friday, as announced by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. The construction site is located in Nason Rural Municipality's ward No. 5, where Dr. Rakesh Pandey, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Dhan Bahadur Gurung, Chairman of Nason Rural Municipality, officiated the event.
This hospital comes as part of a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) and is financed by the Government of India with approximately 56 million Nepali Rupees. The project, managed by Nason Rural Municipality, has been welcomed by local leaders, who expressed optimism that the facility will significantly enhance healthcare services in the region.
India and Nepal maintain a robust relationship characterized by extensive cooperation across various sectors. The hospital initiative is another testament to India's commitment to aid Nepal in its developmental objectives, focusing on crucial areas like law enforcement and infrastructure. This cross-border collaboration also witnessed the delivery of ten prisoner carrier trucks from India to Nepal, alongside the recent foundation stone laying for a new school building in Okhaldhunga, further solidifying India-Nepal ties.
