Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a significant meeting of the Union Cabinet, shortly after the initiation of 'Operation Sindoor,' which targeted terror entities in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Sources revealed that Modi will also lead the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) meeting to assess the situational changes following the military action.

The Cabinet is poised to pass a resolution regarding the overnight military operation conducted by the defense forces, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. Early Wednesday, the Indian armed forces launched precise missile strikes on nine terror sites, including significant bases in Bahawalpur and Muridke.

The Prime Minister had previously granted full operational autonomy to the armed forces in determining targets and timing following the attack that claimed 26 tourist lives in Pahalgam.

Before the pivotal Cabinet meeting, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval provided the Prime Minister with a comprehensive briefing on the developing situation.
