In a significant development, Indian defence forces executed a series of missile strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' targeting specific terror infrastructures in Pakistan. The operation has been applauded by experts for its precision and strategic intention to dismantle key terror strongholds.
Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian military targeted nine terror objectives in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including notable bases of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The strikes have been acknowledged as a tactical response to counter-terrorism threats.
Strategic affairs expert Brig Rahul Bhonsle (retd) noted the action was anticipated given previous governmental declarations on combating terrorism. With the operation being described as careful and proportionate, the Indian military sought to communicate a clear message to deter future threats without increasing tensions.
