Tensions Escalate: Ukrainian Drone Attacks and Russian Response Ahead of Historic Commemoration

Tensions have intensified as Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Moscow just days before the 80th anniversary commemorating the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized Kyiv's actions, labeling them as 'acts of terrorism.' Peskov affirmed Russia's plan to uphold a three-day ceasefire, although the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, questioned its efficacy. Instead, Zelenskiy supports a longer, unconditional ceasefire suggested by the U.S. Meanwhile, Ukrainian reports indicate Russia has conducted intensive air raids on Kyiv and other regions, resulting in civilian casualties.
