Uttar Pradesh has been put on red alert after the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation is a direct retaliation to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, as reported by UP DGP Prashant Kumar.
The strikes targeted significant terror strongholds, including Jaish-e-Mohammad's Bahawalpur base and the Lashkar-e-Taiba's camp in Muridke. In light of these developments, UP Police has ramped up security measures across the state. Key installations are under increased surveillance, with the directive to bolster physical security and enhance perimeter defenses.
The DGP has also mandated mock drills and urged coordination efforts with various defense and intelligence agencies. Special attention is being given to communally sensitive districts, which are now on high alert. The security strategy includes thorough audits of police resources and facilities, aiming to ensure the highest level of public safety.
