In a bid to assess the readiness of security agencies, mock drills were held in Aizawl, Mizoram on Wednesday, officials confirmed. The exercises were part of 'Operation Abhyaas', a national initiative aimed at simulating emergency scenarios such as air raids and fire emergencies.
Taking place over a 2-kilometre stretch between Tuikhuahtlang's AIR station and Aizawl's civil hospital, the drills included a scheduled blackout for five minutes, during which all vehicles were mandated to halt and turn off their engines and lights.
The drills come on the heels of 'Operation Sindoor', in which the Indian armed forces launched retaliatory missile strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following the Pahalgam terror attack.
