In a case that has shocked the community, Delhi Police have apprehended a 51-year-old man accused of raping his daughter-in-law and teenage daughter. The arrest took place in New Delhi's Gole Market, marking the end of a years-long manhunt for the suspect, who had been eluding the authorities since 2018.
The accused, unnamed to protect the victims' identities, was initially booked at the Paharganj Police Station under multiple charges, including rape, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation. Despite being arrested, he was released on bail but subsequently failed to appear in court, leading to his designation as a proclaimed offender.
The case escalated in August 2022 when a fresh complaint was filed at Alipur police station, accusing him of raping his 14-year-old daughter. Acting on a specific tip-off by Head Constable Pradeep Tomar, police finally captured the suspect near Bhai Veer Singh Marg. The man, originally from Uttar Pradesh, continues to face legal proceedings.
